Terms of service

1. The service

poi-bot provides a Discord bot and a web dashboard for moderating, automating and selling within Discord servers. By inviting the bot or signing in to the dashboard, you agree to these terms.

2. Who may use it

You must meet Discord’s minimum age requirement and comply with Discord’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. To configure a server you must hold Manage Server or Administrator in it. Losing that permission removes your dashboard access at your next sign-in.

3. You are the merchant

This is the most important term on this page. If you use commerce features, you connect your own Stripe or SellAuth account. You are the merchant of record for every sale. poi-bot never holds, routes or takes custody of your funds; it creates a Checkout session against your credentials and reacts to the resulting webhook.

It follows that you are solely responsible for what you sell, for tax, for fulfilment, for refunds, for chargebacks, and for complying with Stripe’s terms and with the law where you and your customers are. Disputes are between you and your customer.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use poi-bot to:

• Sell anything illegal, stolen, or prohibited by Stripe or Discord.
• Harass, dox or target individuals, or run a server dedicated to doing so.
• Evade Discord platform enforcement, or automate account or raid behaviour against other servers.
• Attack the service — probing for vulnerabilities outside a responsible disclosure, exhausting resources deliberately, or attempting to reach another tenant’s data.

We may suspend a server or an account that breaks these rules, and will say why where we responsibly can.

5. Plans and billing

Paid plans are per server and billed monthly in advance through Stripe. Moderation, tickets and automation are free on every plan. You may cancel at any time and access continues to the end of the paid period.

A failed payment does not cut you off immediately — Stripe retries for several days and access continues throughout. Downgrading never deletes your data; anything over the new limit simply stops being used until you upgrade or remove it. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

6. Availability

We work to keep the service up but do not promise uninterrupted availability on any plan without a written SLA. Discord outages, Stripe outages and platform rate limits are outside our control. Current reachability is published at /api/status.

7. Your data

You keep ownership of your configuration and your content. You grant us only the licence needed to operate the service for you. What we store and for how long is described in the privacy policy.

8. Your API keys are your responsibility

Commerce runs on credentials you supply. You are responsible for keeping your Stripe and SellAuth keys secret, for rotating them if you suspect they have been exposed, and for using a restricted key scoped to the minimum permissions where your provider offers one.

We encrypt every credential you enter with AES-256-GCM under a per-record key, never display it back to you, and never write it to a log. What we cannot do is protect a key after it leaves this service. We are not liable for loss arising from a key you shared, committed to a repository, pasted into a third-party tool, or otherwise exposed outside poi-bot, nor for anything done with a key while it remained valid at your provider.

If you believe a key stored here has been compromised, revoke it at Stripe or SellAuth first — removing it from poi-bot does not revoke it — then enter the replacement.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory. That includes any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that it will meet your requirements. No advice or information you obtain from us creates any warranty not expressly stated here.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither poi-bot nor its operator is liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, nor for lost profit, lost revenue, lost data, loss of goodwill, or business interruption, arising out of or relating to the service — whether in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability or otherwise, and even if we were advised such damages were possible.

Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or fifty US dollars.

Because you are the merchant of record for everything you sell, this expressly includes any loss arising from your use of commerce features: chargebacks, disputes, refunds, tax liability, fraudulent orders, and any claim brought by one of your customers.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages. Where that is the case, the exclusions and limits above apply only to the extent permitted, and nothing here limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless poi-bot and its operator from any claim, demand, loss or expense — including reasonable legal fees — arising from what you sell, the content you publish through the bot, your breach of these terms, your violation of any law or of Discord’s or Stripe’s terms, or any dispute between you and one of your own customers or members.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. You and we agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Washington for any dispute that is not otherwise resolved.

If any provision here is held unenforceable, it is severed and the rest remains in force.

13. Termination

You may stop at any time by removing the bot and cancelling your plan. We may terminate for a material breach of these terms, or if required to by Discord or by law.

14. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes are announced in the support server before taking effect, and continuing to use the service after that constitutes acceptance.
